Bagi para pengguna gadget Android tentu saja dengan kata ROM atau Read Only Memory, beberapa artikel baik luar jua dalam negeri yang sebenarnya sudah banyak yang membahas ini akan tetap jikalau Penulis amati masih begitu para pengguna Android yang sering keliru kaprah akan fungsi ROM itu sendiri . Untuk itu dalam artikel ini, Penulis akan mencoba menjelaskannya dengan lebih praktis memahaminya.

Hal yang perlu dikhawatir akan custom ROM yang dapat membuat perangkat Android Anda mati total atau lebih dikenal dengan kata Brick.

Batasan adalah kondisi dimana perangkat Android memiliki stok perangkat ROM atau dapat digunakan untuk melakukan booting OS, umumnya saham ROM secara otomatis hilang atau terformat. Sedangkan softbrick yang digunakan adalah kondisi dimana OS nir bekerja selayaknya, semisalkan saat booting hanya menampilkan logo dan masuk ke menu. Ketika perangkat Android masih memungkinkan untuk diperbaiki, maka akan lebih baik jika Anda ingin segera ke pusat layanan untuk memperbaikinya.

2.Apakah perlu mengupdate ROM kepada perangkat Android Anda.

Untuk menjawab pertanyaan di atas tergantung kondisi perangkat Android Anda, dalam definisi pembaruan ROM akan memberikan informasi sebagai pembaruan OS semisalkan Pencarian Antarmuka Pengguna, perbaikan bug / kesalahan, perkakas performa perangkat, dan lain-lain. Hal diatas adalah poin utama sebelum Anda mengupdate ROM, karena pembaruan prosedur memperbarui hal yang terjadi (pembaruan semisalkan ROM rusak atau lainnya) sehingga Anda dapat mengakses kembali ke ROM awal cukup waktu dan merepotkan.3. Apa yang harus dilakukan kompilasi akan mengupdate ROM.

Hal pertama yang Anda lakukan adalah untuk membackup data Anda untuk mewanti-wanti kebutuhan yang diinginkan, seperti nomor kontak dan data file (foto, video). Kiranya kedua hal yang perlu dilakukan backup, perangkat ini sudah ada dan Anda akan menemukan cadangan yang khusus untuk menyimpan di media penyimpanan pribadi Anda (semisalkan PC, eksternal harddisk, dll). Untuk aplikasi yang sudah terinstall, Anda perlu mencadangkan, umumnya menginstal pembaruan ROM berhasil dilakukan dalam kondisi permanen dan juga bekerja normal.

Bila Anda melakukan pembaruan ROM yang mengubah OS dasar (semisalkan dari Android Jellybean ke Android KitKat) maka sebelum Anda melakukan pembaruan maka lakukan dulu wipe cache dan dave link ke recovery mode. Tujuannya untuk kondisi perangkat Android Anda benar-benar bersih dari settingan OS yang lebih lama karena membuat perangkat Android dan perangkat baru (aplikasi yang sudah Anda instal sebelumnya akan hilang).

Selalu gunakan informasi yang terpercaya, Anda dapat melihat di website resmi sesuai perangkat merk Android Anda melalui forum, sebagai contoh perangkat yang digunakan penulis Redmi 2:
